Consumers Are Protected...
The North Carolina General Statute 89D requires that a person holding his or herself
out in any way as a landscape contractor must be duly registered under the
terms of the law.
A nine
person board administers the requirement. Board members are appointed by
the Governor, Commissioner of Agriculture, N.C. Association of Nurserymen's
Board, N.C. Landscape Contractors' Association Board, and the Board of the
N.C. Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects.
The N.C.
Landscape Contractors Registration Board examines all applicants qualified
for examination and maintains a registry of all Registered Individuals along
with their place of employment. Registration is on an annual basis.
